1985 is calling

Most recently the talented team of BBH LA brought me in to bring the T-ALKIE Web App to life as a lead creative and writer. The aim was to maximize cultural conversation around the partnership between T-Mobile and Netflix’s Stranger Things 3 in an authentic way. While mobile phones didn’t exist in 1985, the show’s walkie talkie was a key character in itself—enter the T-ALKIE by T-Mobile.

An ‘80s Throwback:

The walkie talkie 3D printed phone case

Working with Kyle Lambert, the illustrator behind all the iconic key art for Stranger Things, the BBH team was on their way to creating a walkie talkie phone case, artwork, and packaging.

from phone case to Real Walkie talkie:

The talkie everyone can get their hands on

While the nostalgic phone case was highly covetable, it was limited to 250 cases. That’s when BBH brought me in to develop a more inclusive experience. In three weeks, we ideated, sold, and produced a real functioning walkie-talkie web app, using any smartphone. We worked with Stranger Things 3 breakout character, Erica Sinclair, as the voice on the other end of the T-ALKIE.
